Pin Performance Calculator
Pinterest shows raw numbers that are hard to compare between pins. Convert them into save rate, click-through rate and an engagement score you can actually rank pins by.

Why raw numbers mislead
A pin with 40,000 impressions and 100 saves looks better than one with 4,000 impressions and 60 saves — until you divide. The smaller pin saves 1.5% of the people who saw it; the bigger one saves 0.25%. Rate is the only fair comparison between pins of different ages and reach.
What good looks like
Save rate above 1% is healthy for a niche account and above 2% is strong. Click-through rate depends entirely on intent — recipe and product pins convert far higher than inspiration pins. Use your own best pin as the benchmark, not a number from a blog post.
The age adjustment
Pinterest pins keep earning for months, so a two-day-old pin always looks worse than a two-month-old one. Compare pins of similar age, or wait a fortnight before judging a new one at all.
How to use Pin Performance Calculator
- Open the pin’s analytics in Pinterest.
- Enter impressions, saves and clicks.
- Compare the rates, not the raw counts.
Pin Performance Calculator FAQ
What counts as an impression?
The pin appearing on a screen. It is not a click or a view of the destination.
What is a good save rate?
1–2% is healthy. Below 0.5% usually means the image is not stopping anyone.
Should I delete underperforming pins?
No. Pins resurface for years, and deleting loses the history.
